Peter Sterios E-RYT 500 A co-founder of m.BODY and Director of our Teacher Training Program, Peter’s teaching reflects over 3 decades of study and practice in the US and India. Peter’s articles have appeared in Yoga Journal since 1991 and is a former contributing editor. He teaches workshops and retreats nationally and internationally. He also founded Manduka, a leading eco-yoga products company, in 1997. His first yoga DVD “Gravity & Grace: Yoga for Finding Your Inner Teacher” was released in 2007 and was recently selected as “one of the top 15 yoga DVD’s of all time” (R.Rosen, YOGA JOURNAL). In 2011 and 2012, Peter was one of a select group of national instructors invited to teach yoga at the White House for Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity initiative. Tawny Sterios RYT 200 A co-founder of m.BODY, Tawny has been teaching yoga in SLO for 8 years is certified in both kundalini and hatha yoga, with a very personal experience in prenatal yoga (see her prenatal teacher bio below). Tawny has been featured in Yoga Journal in 2010 and 2011. The gift of yoga keeps giving to her and she enjoys bringing it back to her students full circle. She brings her passion for yoga and her lighthearted presence to all of her classes. Her teaching style is very approachable and accessible to students of all levels. In addition to weekly classes she teaches in m.BODY’s 200hr Teacher Training Program, as well as a monthly New Moon Women’s Circle and a kid’s yoga class at her daughter’s school. Amber Sandoval A graduate of The Sivananda Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy, Amber’s teaching style reflects a lighthearted approach to yoga designed for the everyday person. Her classes are delightful and she invites all levels of students to her classes. |

Karesa Bullock In her approach to yoga, Karesa draws on her experience as a dancer and a martial artist. Karesa has been practicing yoga since 1999. She began teaching yoga at Sky Hill Institute, while studying massage, and she continues to teach both group and private classes. Her studies have continued under the guidance of Peter Sterios and other senior teachers. In addition, Karesa is the founder of m.BODY Massage, where she offers her vast experience in therapeutic massage and the therapeutic application of essential oils. Lauren Veach Lauren has a been practicing over 5 years and received her 200hr Teacher Training from Peter and Tawny at mBODY as part of their first graduating class in 2011. She loves to practice and share with others the joy, self love, and healing she’s found in yoga. She moved to SLO seven years ago, with her husband Matt, from Long Beach after falling in love with the Central Coast and it’s warm, friendly community. For nearly twenty years, she has worked with children and the disabled, so teaching has always been an essential part of her life. She loves teaching – to teach what she’s been taught, as well as her own adaptations, and feels the opportunity to teach is a gift beyond price. Her personal mantra is “Believe, trust, and breathe…” |

Karen Newman Karen has been practicing yoga with Peter since 2004, and recently completed her teacher training here at m.BODY. Grateful for the benefits of a dedicated practice, she is glad for the opportunity to share yoga with others. She believes yoga offers something to enrich every person’s life. The clarity, connection, and simple joy she cultivates through her practice keep her returning to the mat each day. |

Cynthia Saffell, RYT 200 Beginning her yoga practice in high school, and continuing for over 40 years, hatha yoga and yoga philosophy, have been both an anchor and a guiding star in Cynthiaʼs life. She completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training and meditation teacher training at Ananda in 2000. In 2004 Cynthia completed the Anusara teacher training program at City Yoga in Los Angeles. She is continuing her yoga studies both with Peter Sterios and at Ananda. Cynthia is inspired by her students, and enjoys together finding new ways to joyfully express themselves through yoga where every class is a celebration of life. |

Seshen is a certified Soul Motion(tm) teacher (www.soulmotion.com). She has studied Soul Motion with the founder Vinn Marti on the West Coast, East Coast and in Europe over the years. She is originally from Japan and has been living on the Central Coast since spring 2011.The way she teaches is gentle yet passionate. She brings different textures and flavors into the class with body awareness exercises, inspirational poems and arts, improvisations and rituals. Her class has an inclusive, caring atmosphere that supports participants to relax in the moment and be in touch with their heart in movement and stillness. Celene Bond From a very early age, Celene has felt the pull of cultural and eastern teachings, and has explored many of them. She has been teaching yoga for many years, and in 2008, completed her 200hr Teacher Training and Advanced Studies Program at Yoga Shakti in Los Angeles. Celene draws her current inspiration for teaching from her training and lifelong practice. In her classes, she strives to create a practice that allows students to cultivate something meaningful and experience lasting effects afterwards. She incorporates a vinyasa flow style practice with an emphasis on breath awareness. Her passion is yoga and she invites her students to share that enthusiasm in her classes! |

Athena Sterios Daughter of the founders of m.BODY, Athena is a unique yoga teacher who brings her passion for play and infinite curiosity to all of those in her presence. Her teaching style is very approachable and accessible, unless she’s grumpy and then she helps those who forgot what it’s like being a 4 year old. |
