At m.BODY, we are committed to providing a varied selection of community-building opportunities in the form of Special Events. These events are scheduled on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis and include Workshops, Retreats, Special Classes, Community Gatherings and Concerts.
WORKSHOPS – Several times a year we offer an Intro to Yoga program, (check the website for dates) designed for students with no previous yoga experience or those needing a basic refresher course. Once a year we offer our Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Studies program, which is for those interested in teaching yoga, as well as those wanting to deepen their understanding and practice of yoga but who may not be interested in becoming an instructor. A 6-month minimum experience of yoga and basic yogic principals is required. For those wanting to teach, the program qualifies for a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification approved by Yoga Alliance. This Program can be completed in 9 months or spread out over longer periods. For Certification, the required program must be completed within a 3-year deadline. RETREATS- Our weekend and week long retreats are hosted at a variety of exotic retreat centers around the world, including Telluride, Colorado; Big Sur, California; Nosara, Costa Rica; Bali, Indonesia; the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts; and Redonda Bay, Nicaragua. We also offer an Annual 6-day Yoga Summer Camp Program at m.BODY every June for locals who want a retreat experience without having to leave town, or for those from out of town who want to retreat in San Luis Obispo and enjoy the beauty the Central Coast has to offer. SPECIAL CLASSES- Throughout the year, we offer intermittent 2 hour classes for a variety of occasions. Our New Moon Yoga For Women is a uniquely crafted ceremonial gathering that blends yoga, meditation, visualization and sisterhood fun into a monthly ritual that connects women more deeply to rhythms and ways of the moon; our Valentine’s Day Class is designed for couples wanting to share a partner yoga class to honor this special day together; and our Fourth of July Class has become a festive favorite with special holiday appropriate music to inspire your practice and celebrate independence.
